I'm Anna-proofing my home.  You see, I'm unbelievably hard on things (and on people, according to my husband...).  I break things.  I don't try to, of course.  But it just happens.  And so in order to Anna-proof my home, I must buy only the most durable, longest-lasting, toughest items on the market.

Ladies and Gentlemen, meet Xtrema Cookware.

It is THE ONLY cookware I will buy from now on.

I was given the 10" skillet (retails for $99) to review.  I have to say, I was skeptical.  I am especially hard on dishes, cookware, coffee mugs, and (more recently, I have broken...) blenders.

This is the 10" skillet I was given to test...

First Impressions:

WOW.  It's beautiful!  There are no lines, no circles inside the pan, no metalic pieces... just gorgeous, polished black.  It is very heavy and sturdy feeling, and the handle is curved well to fit in your hand.

Initial Thoughts:

I was a little concerned that the handle would get very hot while cooking (since it is not rubber), and that the pan would scratch.  Read on to see why these were unfounded concerns!

The Test:

I decided to cook frozen chicken and spinich in a garlic butter sauce.

When I cook this in my Calphalon pans, it all sticks.  And is nearly impossible to get out.

Here is a photo of our dinner cooking... the pan heated up INSTANTLY!!!

Much to my surprise (and I actually have no idea why...), the liquid stayed in the pan.  This was the juiciest chicken I've ever cooked.  Normally when I make this dish, the chicken sticks, because it gets quickly dried out.

A little more of a test...

Since the chicken was super moist and didn't stick, I decided I'd leave the pan sitting, unwashed, overnight!  With not even a drop of water in the pan!  I know, it's a cardinal sin in the kitchen... but I really wanted to put this cookware to the test!!

What I woke up to the next morning (my unwashed pan after sitting overnight)...

The result of my experiment, after about 30 seconds of washing...

My Honest Opinion:

I am in AWE of Xtrema Cookware.  Before I tried it, I didn't now belive that non-stick, intensive heat resistant, non-scratch, healthy cookware existed!  I am very thankful I was allowed to test this product, because it is now my ONLY cookware of choice.  If you are in the market to buy new cookware, PLEASE do not purchase anything until you have tried Xtrema.  I guarantee that if you try it once, you WILL buy it!
